"The Bible is a telescope we use to see another world." Have you ever been standing beside someone who said, "Look!" and you saw something you hadn't noticed before? There are amazing things around us every day, yet often we miss them. We can walk through life and never see those things until someone draws our attention to them and shows us what we've been missing. The Bible is the Word of God. When we read it, it is as if God is standing beside us telling us to "look" at things we might be missing. If we don't take the time to read the Bible, we can go throughout our day and never have those "look" moments where God points out the most important things we need to see. Those "look" moments can come in the form of a new perspective on a problem. It could happen when we recognize a habit we need to change. God can even give us a "look" moment when he shows us an opportunity to impact someone's life. There is so much God wants us to see, but those "look" moments require us to regularly read the Bible.
Act
What is an area of your life where you would like to see something different? Maybe there is a decision you need to make, an obstacle you are facing, or an opportunity you want to take advantage of. Have you searched for any Bible verses that could help you see what God wants to show you? You could start by simply going to Google and searching "Bible verses about ____." When you take the time to look, he will show you where to look!
Pray
God, please help me to not miss what you want me to see. Please build the habit of regularly reading the Bible so I have those "look" moments where you show me what I need to see.
