Read

Colossians 1:26-29, “The mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people. To them, God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. To this end, I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.”

Revelation 21:2-3, “Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, ‘Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.’”

Think

There’s nothing like a great mystery movie on a cold, rainy afternoon! For a few hours, it’s easy to get lost in an alternate reality as you experience the character’s ups and downs and the plot’s twists and turns. But at the end of the day, it’s just a film, and you eventually have to snap back into real-life mode. But within the mundane of our daily grind, surrounded by unknown mysteries, whether we’re aware of them or not. And none of us are smart enough to fully grasp all there is to know on earth, much less in heaven!

As Christ-followers, as the Lord’s people, God has revealed some of life’s greatest mysteries to us in Scripture. Just think about how amazing it feels to be privy to the fact that Christ dwells in and works powerfully through every believer gifted by God to fulfill unique purposes. Although too complex for our finite minds to fully grasp, God’s unveiled precisely what we need to know to move forward in faith joyfully each day!

However, when considering the end times, much uncertainty remains about the enigmatic events that have yet to unfold — much we’ll never know this side of eternity. BUT we do have complete confidence in God’s sovereign power and the knowledge that we can live fearlessly and proclaim Christ through every situation! In Christ, we are never alone to face the world and its troubles on our own. And we know the end of the story is thrilling — Christ is victorious, and we will one day live with Him in a place He has prepared for us, for all eternity. That is our future! That will one day be our real-life mode that we won’t ever feel the need to escape even for a few hours. How great is that!

Pray

Lord, Help me to live boldly and fearlessly for You today. I am so thankful for Your presence that guides me even when I don’t know what is around the corner. May the way I live and the words I speak honor and point others towards You! Amen.
