Hebrews 11:16 ”Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.”
Hebrews 13:14 “For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come.”

Jonathan Edwards, the renowned preacher of the Great Awakening, often imparted a profound message to his congregation: "This life ought so to be spent by us as only to be a journey towards heaven." Our deepest hopes and affections are anchored in heaven, and our decisions should naturally align in that direction.
This perspective empowers us to confront challenges and endure sorrow with unwavering hope. As believers, we recognize that our true home lies in heaven, while this earthly existence is but a fleeting, temporary moment. Our faith reassures us that, just as God directed Abraham from his homeland, he will faithfully guide us. The same God who led Moses out of Egypt and through the Red Sea will also guide us through our journeys of faith. In surrendering the temporary, we embrace the eternal.

We can live today on earth like Jesus is walking beside us, like heaven is our destination, while we have a purpose and job still here. Allow God to use you – in your home, at work, in your neighborhood, and in the grocery store, or at school. Make every moment count!
Pray:
Jesus, you paid the price so I could spend eternity with you. I am so grateful that heaven is my home. Help me tell more people about your love and grace, and everything you offer for us. Give me power. In Jesus' name. Amen.
